You are a Monster Hunter in the United States, living the good life in Patriot Springs. This city has everything a mercenary like yourself needs. Fun all year round and action aplenty. Then one day your life of revelry is interrupted when BAM! The United States is invaded. Now all those goodtime screams are replaced with screams of genuine terror. There's running and dying, and no one will tell you anything. What kind of invasion is this: Aliens? Zombies? Robots? The British? No one knows. But one thing's for certain. Phaegus Zombie A Phaegus Zombie is a monster who was formerly a living person. Infected with the Phaegus Virus, they have died and then been resurrected by the Phaegus and are attacking to eat the living and spread the Phaegus. An individual Phaegus Zombie does not offer much of a challenge, but in large groupings they are the deadliest opponents you will face.   Single Zombie Injury: 1 CP: 5 EP: 20 Special Phaegus Infection: At the end of each battle with any number of Phaegus Zombies you must roll under your Physicality. If you fail that roll you are infected. But as an experienced monster hunter you know that heat will draw the infection out. You must take 1 point of Injury while applying the heat to draw the infection out. The GM has no responsibility to remind you of this danger. If you do not act immediately after a battle you will remain infected. The moment you go to sleep you will die and become a monster. Hand your character over to the GM and create a new one. ...

Welcome to Patriot Springs

The city of Patriot Springs (specifically Arlington County) is a curious place where all are welcome. Really. There are story elements of traditional fantasy, science-fiction, horror, and just about everything else you could want in a Role Playing Game. Except magic. Did we not mention that? Yeah, there's no magic in this game. And no Bavarian Polka. We're looking at you, Weird Al. Oh, but wait. How cool would it be if Weird Al hosted an RPG game night as the Game Master?  Anyway! You play a Monster Hunter and it's a good thing, because monsters are roaming everywhere and good people are in desperate need of your services. And we mean desperate. The kind of desperate that makes you want to binge watch the worst shows on Netflix and say, "It's not so bad." Oh, but it's bad.
