Create Your Own Monsters
Monsters for this game were taken from myths, legends, films, and pure imagination. You may be a fan of Asian mythology and can't find the monster you're looking for in this book. Or you've had a look at the monsters from the movies and are wondering why we didn't include a certain cyborg from one of James Cameron's best. Well we're happy to leave that to you. We've done all the heavy lifting. It's your turn.
To create your own monster for this game it's pretty simple.
Levels. What levels will your players be when they face this monster?
Injury Points. How much injury is the monster capable of inflicting?
Character Points. How many CP does the monster have?
Special Attacks. This can be tricky. If you're basing the monster on something you and your players will be familiar with you're going to want to emulate that as best as possible. But you don't want to go overboard. Remember that your players have to be able to kill it. A good idea may be to limit the special attacks.
Encounter Points. Assuming your players survive an attack from your clever and vile creation, what's that worth? Be generous, yes. But don't award them so many EP it pushes them to the next level with one kill. I mean, you could do that, but it would have to be a truly special monster.
Magic. This isn't necessary but it could be fun. Very few monsters in this game use magic. If your creation is going to use magic make it so it's very specific. Also consider that the players will need a way of meeting the challenge of magic.
